Today, November 20, marks another anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the most widely ratified international instrument in the world and an essential guide for all practices that seek to guarantee the best interests of children and adolescents.

From the International and Ibero-American Association of Specialists in Parenting Coordination (AIIECP), we renew our commitment to this human rights paradigm, which recognizes children and adolescents as full subjects, holders of rights, with their own voice, and with specific needs in highly conflictive family contexts.

SOCIAL CO-RESPONSIBILITY
This Convention reminds us that the comprehensive protection of children is a shared task of families, institutions, the State, and the entire community. Within this framework, Parenting Coordination is established as a specialized tool that supports families in conflict, helps reduce emotional harm, and fosters safer and more predictable environments.

THE ROLE OF PARENTING COORDINATORS
Our work is based on principles that align directly with the Convention: the best interests of the child, guaranteeing the right to meaningful bonds, progressive participation, support for parental figures, and the prevention of harm.

CHALLENGES AHEAD
Obstacles persist that call for reinforcing this mission: consolidating regulatory frameworks, strengthening specialized training, promoting evidence-based public policies, ensuring the safe listening of children and adolescents, and expanding institutional co-responsibility.

A PERMANENT COMMITMENT
We reaffirm our mission to build more protective family and social ecosystems, where every child can grow up with opportunities, nurturing bonds, and responsible adults. The CRC reminds us that the protection of children is an ethical, collective, and permanent responsibility.
